[ As Thranduil will learn very quickly, his new Dom is not as well as other humans tend to be - not with spiritual concerns. Xingchen does well enough, but he spends most of his energy on teaching and guiding others that he has to recharge around noon most days. He's rarely alone when he falls asleep during the day, at least one of the sweet kittens is with him and curls up on his chest wherever he is. ]
{The weakness struck him the moment they met in person. He had made no comment about it - to do so would be rude - but now he finds himself draw to his Dominant, his brow furrowing in concern. Xiao Xingchen is a kind, graceful Man - as rare as the jewels he prizes most - and Thranduil does not want him to be ill.
If only Elrond were here...
He finds the Man sleeping with a kitten nestled on his chest. The sight is enough to earn a smile and Thranduil drapes a blanket over Xingchen to keep him warm. Then, very lightly, he brushes his fingertips against the Man's head, getting a better sense of his spirit.
[ It's still early in the night when Xingchen goes searching for his newest submissive. He knows Thranduil likely already sensed a change in the house, but hopes the result will reassure the kind Elf. ]
{Xingchen doesn't have to tell him that there has been a shift; he can sense it. Thranduil is placing a book back on one of the many shelves in the library when the Man approaches. He glances over his shoulder calmly.}
You have changed. {He turns to face Xingchen fully, his robes shining richly with the motion.} Are you well?
[ He knows about when Thranduil tends to be home and will find anything he might leave. And while he can't buy anything, he can still make things with what natural materials he finds.
And he has.
Resting on Thranduil's favorite tree bed, under a spell any Elf would be able to see through especially one familiar with Maglor and his craft, is a crown of branches woven together with flowers. Delicate flowers of the palest blue he could find. Thranduil will find it's a perfect fit, too. ]
{The gift is found - with a fair amount of surprise - a few hours later. Thranduil touches the crown carefully, lifting and fitting it over his pale hair. It does feel nice to wear the beauty of nature again; he hadn't thought to weave himself his own crown.
However Maglor, obviously, had for who else could have made this gift?
He slips from the tree bed and readies himself in his room, pulling on a robe to match the blue flowers. Then he sets out, not stopping until he is knocking on Maglor's door.}
[ Scattered here and there in a few books Xingchen has noticed Thranduil liking, as well as the wine cabinet, are scraps of paper with sketches.
Some are of Thranduil's face or hands. Others are of various animals (including the two cats the live with them). Some are from books, as he's never seen them himself. Elk. Moose.
And then there are the little creatures that chatter in the woods. Squirrels, racoons and the like. ]
{Each sketch is collected and placed in a special journal. Thranduil is working on a piece for Xingchen - one that details the mountains of China. He has added flowers, trees and the various wildlife that he learned about from Xingchen's now quite extensive library.
He waits for the color to dry before stopping his sweet Master in the hall.}
[ Whenever Thranduil returns to his room, he'll find a letter on his pillow addressed to him in Xingchen's elegant calligraphy. Beside it is a small bouquet of white and pale blue flowers, clearly from the garden, tied gently together with a piece of delicate silver wire. ]
My dear friend,
When you have the time, I would like very much to speak with you. It is not urgent, and of a matter I hope which will please you.
{The blooms are woven into his hair before he seeks out Xingchen. He carries with him the scent of the trees and the garden - something easily detectable by a Vampire's nose. When he is close enough to the Man, he grazes his fingertips along Xingchen's cheek.}
[ On Thranduil's bed one evening when the Elven King is surely to be home, he'll find a wrapped gift. There's short note attached to it, in Maglor's rough Tengwar. ]
[A week after their last encounter, Mingjue arranges for them to have a private room somewhere to meet. Honestly it's a hotel but for a few hours the price will be worth it to ensure they aren't accidentally walked in on by someone they care about.
Waiting in the room with tea that he'd ordered, he lets himself relax and mediate while he waits for the knock at the door to tell him that Thranduil has arrived after receiving his message.]
{He carries with him containers large enough to suit Mingjue's needs for some time yet. The hotel is a good choice and, after navigating the halls, Thranduil knocks on the door. He is attired in a simple robe of green and his hair has been braided back so it won't interfere with his work. His hands too are bare, for once. His usual rings wouldn't feel nice against scarred skin.}
Thranduil! [ The feed shown isn't of Maglor's face, but of a tiny bundle wrapped up and held with obvious care to the Elf's chest - the very tip of a tiny, fury face is all that can be seen. And his voice itself is barely above a whisper. ]
I have a little one in need of your skill. Will you come?
[ A picture of a black and white-furred husky dog, sitting under an open window and staring up at it. In its mouth, the dog holds a square board with a grid cut into it. ]
